These terms govern your use of We Have a Guy, a Connecticut LLC. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

We Have a Guy is a venue where local families and local students find each other for odd jobs. Families post jobs, students apply, and families choose who to work with. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or a party to any work arrangement made through the service. Any arrangement is solely between the family and the student.

Students on We Have a Guy are not our employees, contractors, or agents. We do not supervise, direct, or control anyone’s work. Nothing in these terms or on the service creates an employment relationship with us for anyone.

A real person reviews each student account and approves it before the student can see or apply to jobs. That review confirms the student is a local student. It is not a background check, a reference check, or an interview, and it is not a guarantee of any person’s conduct, skill, or work.

You are responsible for the information you provide and for activity on your account. Please keep your details accurate and up to date.

Customers set their own price and pay the student directly for their work. We do not process or handle those payments. We charge a separate platform service fee, disclosed at the time of payment, for use of the service.

You decide who to work with. You are solely responsible for selecting, instructing, and supervising anyone you engage through the service, for paying them as agreed, and for the safety and condition of your home or premises.

You are responsible for your own work, your own conduct, and your own safety on every job, and for having any permission you need to work.

Some students on the service are under 18. By using the service, a student under 18 represents that a parent or guardian has given them permission to use it and to take on jobs. A parent or guardian can reach us about a minor’s account through the contact form.

You choose who to work with, and you accept the risks of doing so. We do not control what happens on a job. Working with people you meet through the service is at your own risk.

We collect your name, phone number, and email address. If you opt in at signup, we text you about your jobs only: confirmations, acceptance updates, scheduling, and status updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Use the service lawfully and as intended. Do not misuse it or use it to harm others.

The service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee the outcome of any job or arrangement made between users, and we make no promises about any user's conduct, skill, or reliability.

A dispute about a job is between the family and the student who arranged it. If you have a dispute with another user, you release us from any claims arising out of that dispute.

You agree to hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, that arise from your conduct, your use of the service, or your work arrangements with other users.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the service fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Any dispute between you and us that we cannot resolve informally will be settled by binding arbitration in Connecticut, on an individual basis. You and we each waive the right to bring or participate in a class action. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated terms here with a new date and ask you to accept them the next time you use the service. Continued use plus that acceptance means the updated terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
